Klaus Schønning is the focal point of MusicVenture.
Klaus was born in 1954 in Denmark and started his musical career as a street musician in Copenhagen earning money to record his first album in 1979 called “Lydglimt” (Glimpses of Sound) – one of the first albums released with new age music, even before New Age music became an established international genre. The following years Klaus composed, arranged, recorded, and produced several solo albums and earned the reputation as one of the most respected Danish and Scandinavian musicians within his musical genre. Klaus has studied music at the University of Copenhagen. Through the years his music has taken us through fantasy and reality – inspired by myths, magic, fairy tales and nature.

Critics describes the music of Klaus Schønning as symphonic, lyrical and illustrative modern instrumental music. Klaus has been releasing his 30 solo albums and playing his music through 40 years, and he has earned the reputation as the master of modern symphonic keyboard music. Besides composing, playing and releasing his music on solo albums, Klaus Schønning has played and released music with the Pink Floyd inspired band ‘The North’, contributed to several bestselling compilation CD recordings and composed and played music to movies, events and live performances.
Klaus has been recording and releasing his music via some of the big record companies, such as Medley Records/EMI and Sony. However, Klaus did not feel that the record companies matched the qualities he needed. At MusicVenture we are honoured to be teamed up with Klaus and to be able to release his music through our company.

Symphodyssé 5-8 are like four contemporary symphonies that incorporate styles from numerous genres and cultures, adapted into Klaus Schønning’s very own unique soundscape. The series is like a musical manifesto that reflects universal moods that can be understood by everyone everywhere.

Lydglimt II (2018)

When I recorded the original ‘Lydglimt’ 40 years ago, I was limited by the scarce technical options I had available. With the great progress in the field of keyboards and recording technology that has happened since, it is now easier and faster testing and realizing musical ideas. I was wondering, how ‘Lydglimt’ would have sounded if I had the possibilities I have today. That question became the basis for the rerecording of ‘Lydglimt’. A journey where the music of the past was led to a contemporary expression.

The Anniversary Concert contains selected titles from an extensive back catalog with harmonious and melodic musical experiences and pieces. The concert was held in the beautiful setting of a historic building of an old trainstation in Vedbæk, Denmark February 2016. The Anniversary Concert includes new music, which was written specifically for the concert and new arrangements from previous releases.
